This particular brand is known for providing various solar system technologies at affordable prices and straightforward, user-friendly systems. We will focus mainly on their MPPT solar charge controllers to facilitate a simple and concise overview of what their MPPT systems offer.

Who Is EPEVER?

Established in 2007 in Beijing, China, and with the mission to ensure everyone has access to energy anywhere, EPEVER has become a leading manufacturer with more than 120 partners worldwide. EPEVER’s main products are solar charge controllers, inverter chargers, and inverters.

What Is an MPPT?

An MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) solar charge controller controls the battery’s interaction with a solar panel array while charging to produce the maximum power. It regulates the current and voltage from the solar panels into the battery by tracking the solar panel’s voltage to find the greatest output.

How Much Do MPPT Solar Charge Controllers Cost?

MPPT solar charge controllers cost between $60 to $600. However, you can find EPEVER’s highest capacity system for $430, reinforcing their budget-friendly attribute. Generally, the price will depend on the brand, the high voltage capacity, and the built-in protection systems, amongst other aspects.

EPEVER MPPT Systems

EPEVER MPPT systems track the solar array’s maximum power point (MPP). Have a tracking efficiency of up to 99.5% and capture the maximum solar energy quickly and effectively. They can generate up to 30% more power than PWM charge controllers .

With a variety of 10 series to choose from, EPEVER provides MPPT solar charge controllers that adapt to the user’s budget and its solar systems’ demands. Not all systems have an integrated display screen; for this, EPEVER has a MT-50 Solar Controller  that allows the user to connect it to their solar charge controller and see real-time data and set parameters.

Throughout this article, we will go over all of their models. However, we will center mainly on their top two largest solar charge controller series, the XTRA Series and Tracer AN Series.

XTRA Series (10~40A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

The XTRA Series is ideal for small to medium system sizes. It promises a maximum power input is 2080W (48V DC), a high-temperature charging power derating function, multiple load work modes, and an IP33.

EPEVER made sure to design their XTRA MPPT solar charge controllers compatible with all lead-acid battery types, Sealed, Flooded, GEL, and lithium-ion batteries. This series also provides three different display module options: XDB1 (basic LED), XDS1 (standard LED), and XDS2 (advanced LED).

With ten different models, we will go over a specific XTRA Series model to get a better idea of what these particular EPEVER MPPT systems offer.

The XTRA 4415N Solar Charge Controller  is optimal for off-grid photovoltaic systems like RVs, vans, and boats. XTRA has a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 150V at minimum operating environment temperature and 138V at 25℃ environment temperature. It has a charging power and current limitation function and an IP33.

Tracer AN Series MPPT Solar Charge Controller

Contrary to XTRA, the Tracer Series is designed for all small and large applications and can accept a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 100V. The Tracer AN series has two models depending on the capacity (10A – 40A) and (50A – 100A). All Tracer models are compatible with all lead-acid battery types, Sealed, Flooded, GEL, and lithium-ion batteries, and have a charging power and current limitation function.

Tracer-AN (50A-100A) series is the most extensive charge controller series. These solar charge controllers can take up to 5kW from a solar panel installation. With a PAL-ADP-50N, the user can connect a maximum of 6 of a controller in parallel to obtain a 30kW system.

The following specifications are from two models, one with the lowest current, Tracer 1210AN MPPT Solar Charge Controller , and the other with the highest current, Tracer 10415AN MPPT Solar Charge Controller .

DuoRacer Series (10~40A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

This MPPT solar charge controller is a great option for off-grid applications such as motorhomes, RVs, vans, and campers. It works great to charge your main battery for living and supports trickle charging to the start vehicle battery simultaneously.

Tracer BN Series (10~40A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

The Tracer-BN series  is based on a common negative design and has a nominal system voltage of 12V/24V Auto. It has a battery voltage range of 8V-24V and an automatic limit function to ensure no overload occurs, with a maximum photovoltaic open circuit voltage of up to 150V. Important to note that this solar charge controller does not work with lithium-ion batteries, it only works with Sealed, GEL, Flooded, and user.

MSC-N Series (20~40A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

MSC-N series has dual load constant voltage outputs, switchable at 12/24V. Their LVD points from both loads’ outputs are programmable to support the main load power supply priority. MSC-N charge controllers are excellent for applications for security monitoring in recreational vehicles and houses.

iTracer-ND Series (60A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

The iTracer Series solar charge controller with 60A DC output current can support up to 800W PV power in a 12V system, 1600W in a 24V system, 2400W in a 36V system, and 3200W in a 48V system. It has a remote monitoring function and works with Sealed, GEL, and Flooded battery types. And just like the Tracer BN Series, it does not work with lithium-ion batteries.

Tracer BP Series (10~30A) IoT MPPT Solar Charge Controller

The Tracer BP series grants an IP68 with a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 100V. Its 5V, 150mA power supply makes it easy for the user to expand its application. It can monitor and control the solar system via app and cloud platform through accessories like the MT50, WiFi module, Bluetooth adapter, or IoT module.

Tracer LPLI Series (10~20A) MPPT Solar Charge Controller

This solar charge controller combines solar charge controllers and LED constant current driver into one unit. The Tracer LPLI Series has multiple load control modes, is ideal for various solar LED lighting applications, and has an inferred wireless communication design. Conveniently, it also has an automatic load test feature during installation.

Tracer BPL Series (10~20A) IoT MPPT Solar Charge Controller

Like the Tracer LPLI, the BPL Series combines a solar charge controller and LED constant current driver into one unit and has multiple load control modes. Due to its RS485 communication, the user can monitor remotely via IoT. It offers an IP68 and intelligent power derating to ensure 365 days of lighting.
